Adelia vaseyi
  • tall shrub with ascending branches, up to 10 feet tall
  • thornless
  • leaves alternate or in small clusters, stalkless, obovate or spoon-shaped, 1/2 - 1 1/2 inches long
  • flowers inconspicuous
  • fruit a 3-lobed, 3-seeded capsule ca. 1/4 inch long, on a fairly long stalk
  • endemic to South Texas and Tamaulipas
  • mostly on the Rio Grande Delta, but also in Starr County
  • locally common in brush along Arroyo Colorado
