- multi-stemmed low shrub forming rounded clumps mostly 1 - 11/2 feet in diameter
- leaves opposite, gray-green, 1 inch long or less, very narrow, edges rolled under
- flowers with 5 (or 6) white lobes
- found in alkaline, saline clay flats and gravelly slopes
- often abundant where present
- Starr, Zapata and Webb counties
- also in Nuevo Leon and Tamaulipas
