  • leaves mostly 3-4 inches long, often folded in middle, 1/4-1/2 inch wide, green with dark purple splotches
  • nearly flat on ground
  • flowers (not shown) at end of stalk 2-3 feet tall
  • tepals 6, somewhat waxy, white to rose-pink
  • Hidalgo and Starr counties; also adjacent Mexico
