  • leaves opposite, on short stalks, narrowly lanceolate or triangular
  • much like arrowleaf milkvine (Matelea sagittifolia)
  • in arrowleaf milkvine, the corona is thickened or unlobed or very shallowly lobed
  • in Falfurrias milkvine, the corona is prominently lobed, the 5 lobes thin but 2 mm long
