  • annual with several stems from base, starting out almost erect but eventually becoming almost prostrate
  • leaves opposite, linear, very short
  • flowers tiny, 5-lobed, whitish
  • endemic to deep sands of coastal South Texas, extending inland on Sand Sheet
  • named in honor of Dr. Fred Jones, the dean of Coastal Bend botany
